- We cannot decrypt or read your messages
- Messages automatically delete after viewing
- No message history is stored on our servers
2.3 Technical Information
We collect minimal technical data necessary to operate the service:
- IP addresses (temporarily, for security and rate limiting)
- Device type and operating system (for compatibility)
- Connection timestamps (for service optimization)
- Error logs (for technical support)
This technical data is anonymized and not linked to your GhostID.
3. How We Use Information
The minimal data we collect is used solely for:

5. End-to-End Encryption

GhostChat uses industry-standard end-to-end encryption protocols. Your messages are encrypted using strong cryptographic keys that only you and your recipient possess. Even if our servers were compromised, your messages would remain unreadable.
6. Message Deletion
Our self-destructing message system works as follows:
- Messages are automatically deleted from our servers after being viewed once
- No copies are retained in any form
- Recipients cannot take screenshots (platform-dependent security)
- Messages cannot be recovered once deleted
7. Third-Party Services
GhostChat does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share your data with third parties except:
- When required by law (valid court orders or legal obligations)
- To prevent imminent harm or illegal activity
- With your explicit consent
8. Anonymous Usage
Important: Because you sign up anonymously with only a GhostID, we cannot identify you personally. This means:
- We cannot recover your account if you lose access

- Account deletion is permanent and irreversible

- We cannot provide message content (it's encrypted and deleted)

- We cannot identify users beyond their GhostID

What We Cannot Protect Against:
- Screenshots taken by recipients (device-dependent)
- Recipients manually copying or recording message content
- Malware or compromised devices
- Social engineering or user error
